Theatre Victoria prepares for 2018-19 season

With the buzz of “Grease,” Theatre Victoria wraps up its 2017-18 season, and it looks to its next season of shows. The 2018-19 season begins in September with “Cash on Delivery” and ends with “Mama Mia” with several family shows in between.

Theatre series

  • “Cash on Delivery” is a British farce about a con artist who has outwitted the welfare authorities. He goes and gets the help from Uncle George. It features six men and four women. The fast-paced show has four performance Sept. 13-16 at the Leo J. Welder for the Performing Arts.

  • Coming in November, Theatre Victoria will showcase a new comedy for four performances. The show will be announced in mid-August. It will run from Nov. 15-18 at the Leo J. Welder for the Performing Arts.

  • The new year is kicked off with the “9 to 5” musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. The musical is based on the 1980s movie. It follows the story of friendship and revenge and a bit of romance. It has four performances Feb. 14-17, 2019.

  • “Cheatin’” makes its way to the Leo J. Welder for the Performing Arts for four performances. The comedy is set in a west Texas town of Lowake and gossip causes problems for three couples regarding infidelity. The show runs April 25-28, 2019.

  • Here, they go again. “Mama Mia” hits the stage to wrap up the 2018-19 season. The summer musical has a large cast with laughs and dancing. The hit has seven showings from July 26-28 and Aug. 1-4.

Family series

  • The Main Street Theatre kicks off the family series with “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” The show has two performances Oct. 18 and 19.

  • This December, Theatre Victoria presents an original production, “Winter Wonderland 5.” With read through songs, people can get in the holiday spirit with two performances Dec. 15 and 16.

  • Next to the stage, Disney’s “The Lion King.” The classic comes to Victoria with four performances as viewers travel to Pride Rock with the rest of the cast. It hits the stage March 28-31, 2019.

  • A diverse group of students graces the stage in “Fame Jr.,” for one day. The show explores issues that young people face today. It comes the stage May 23, 2019.

  • Wrapping up the Family Series is T3 Showcase performed by the Theatre Victoria Triple Threat Theatre Summer Camp. The show comes after two weeks of workshops and the campers showcase their skills in three performances June 29-30, 2019.

Season tickets are now available for purchase. A season subscription ticket allows a person entry into each of the five productions with a choice of which showing in the Theatre Series. This provides the seat of choice for the ticket holder.

Flex Pass tickets can be purchased for either the Theatre Series or the Family Series, each come with 10 tickets. Theatre Series tickets are available for $180 and the Family Series for $100.

The Season Series Flex Pass is available to anyone who wants to see both series. The pass comes with 24 tickets for $300 and access to the Theatre Series and the Family Series.

Individual tickets can be purchased for each show with varying prices up until the day of the show.
