A new report claims Alex Rodriguez is saying ‚Äúno‚ÄĚ to marrying Jennifer Lopez because he‚Äôs got ‚Äúcold feet,‚ÄĚ but the entire article is made-up. Gossip Cop can correct this manufactured report. If anything, by Lopez‚Äôs own words, it‚Äôs she who‚Äôs reticent about rushing into another wedding.
According to the National Enquirer, Rodriguez has thrown Lopez ‚Äúa wicked curveball.‚ÄĚ The supermarket tabloid claims, ‚ÄúAlex has caught cold feet.‚ÄĚ A so-called ‚Äúsource‚ÄĚ is quoted as telling the magazine, ‚ÄúAlex is the one who poured cold water on the ‚ÄėI dos.‚Äô‚ÄĚ The same unnamed ‚Äúinsider,‚ÄĚ adds, ‚Äú‚Ä®A wedding would involve lawyers‚Ķ They have both tried the marriage thing before, and it didn‚Äôt work.‚ÄĚ
But it‚Äôs not a matter of the singer wanting to get married and the former baseball star having ‚Äúcold feet.‚ÄĚ In fact, as opposed to the contentions of the tabloid‚Äôs untraceable ‚Äúsource,‚ÄĚ it‚Äôs actually Lopez herself who recently said she‚Äôs not looking to get married quite yet. Last month, Lopez told Harper‚Äôs Bazaar in an interview, ‚ÄúI do believe in marriage,‚ÄĚ adding, ‚ÄúAnd I would love to grow old with somebody in a committed relationship. But I‚Äôm not forcing anything right now.‚ÄĚ
And that wasn‚Äôt all. Just three days ago, following the release of her song ‚ÄúEl Anillo,‚ÄĚ which is Spanish for ‚ÄúThe Ring,‚ÄĚ and which references baseball, Rodriguez, and has the lyric, ‚ÄúWhere will I get the ring?‚ÄĚ there was speculation Lopez was asking Rodriguez for an engagement ring. But shortly after the song‚Äôs release, Lopez was asked in an interview on Beats 1 about whether a proposal was imminent and she shot it down.
Lopez said, ‚ÄúWe‚Äôre good right now,‚ÄĚ but reiterated her remarks from a month ago, by noting, ‚ÄúI‚Äôm not trying to rush into anything, I‚Äôve done that before, to no avail.‚ÄĚ She further explained, ‚ÄúI‚Äôm a little bit more grown up now and I like to let things take their natural course.‚ÄĚ So, it should be 100 percent clear that it‚Äôs no Rodriguez having ‚Äúcold feet.‚ÄĚ It‚Äôs actually more of Lopez not wanting to hastily wed.
That‚Äôs not to say their relationship isn‚Äôt serious. It is. In fact, while the tabloid maintains Rodriguez is reticent to walk down the aisle for a second time because ‚Äúa wedding would involve lawyers,‚ÄĚ the couple has already had their fair share of legal work binding them to one another. Just a month ago, Rodriguez and Lopez bought a $15.3 million condo together in New York in both their names.
Interestingly, the National Enquirer‚Äôs sister publication Star reported exactly a month ago that Lopez and Rodriguez were already engaged after he allegedly put a $5 million, 9-carat diamond on her left hand. Of course, that wasn‚Äôt true, as confirmed by both their reps to Gossip Cop. And this latest tale about Rodriguez saying ‚Äúno‚ÄĚ to marrying Lopez also strikes out.
