Melbourneâs music community has once again show its communal strength gathering to support blues great Chris Wilson who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
The Chris Wilson Benefit will be held at the Corner Hotel in Richmond on Friday August 24.

Chris Wilson is a stalwart of the Australian music scene. Over the years he has contributed to Paul Kelly and the Coloured Girls âGossipâ, then joined the band for âUnder The Sunâ. Chris guested on Hunters & Collectors âWhatâs A Few Menâ, he fronted his own band Crown of Thrones, collaborated with Diesel on the âShort Cool Onesâ project and released his solo records.
Wilson Diesel reunited in 2013 for a performance of âShort Cool Onesâ at the Sydney Blues & Roots Festival.
Chris was recently immortalised in the documentary âChris Wilson Live at the Continental 23 Years onâ, a film by Chris Franklin.
In his life away from the stage, Chris is a school teacher, teaching English to Melbourneâs secondary students.
