Manchester United’s plans to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be ruined by Real Madrid.
United are understood to be keen on landing Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
But Italian newspaper It Messaggero claim Real Madrid also want the Serbia international.
They report that Real are willing to bid ÂŁ132m for the star, with an extra ÂŁ17.6m available in bonuses.
That fee may be too much for United, who are already set to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
David De Gea admits he could be banned from the Manchester United dressing room – but not because of his transfer status.
De Gea is wanted at Real Madrid but United are determined to keep him.
A stand-off similar to the one witnessed in 2015 could occur, with the goalkeeper’s contract expiring at the end of next season.
But the reason he may be ostracised by the United players is because of music, he claims.
“I always put my music on,” he told Copa 90.
“It is true that they might ban me from the dressing room one day.
“I get a lot of criticism about my music but I always try and play them good music.
“They like to play different kinds of music but I always play them a bit of mine.
“I like metal and rock bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica. When I put it on in the dressing room, everyone moans! Most of the other players are into hip-hop.”
Manchester City are ready to battle Chelsea for Jean Michel Seri, having missed out on Fred.
Manchester United are set to sign Fred when the details of his agreement are ironed out.
City wanted the midfielder but refused to go higher than ÂŁ40m.
They have also rejected Napoli’s demands of £60m-plus for Jorginho.
City therefore are chasing Seri, who is wanted at Chelsea as a replacement for Danny Drinkwater.
Jose Mourinho is unlikely to sign a left-back this summer because he instead wants to prioritise a striker signing.
Mourinho is prepared to put off a signing in that area to stick with Luke Shaw and first-choice Ashley Young.
Now the United boss will target a frontman and they have been looking at West Ham United’s Marko Arnautovic and Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic, but the club are still exploring options.
United keeper Dean Henderson is at the centre of a three-club battle, report The Sun.
Henderson, who spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury last season, has been talking to Bristol City.
But now Fulham and Stoke want the England youth player too. He is valued at around ÂŁ1m.
Stoke boss Gary Rowett has told Henderson they will move for him if an offer comes in for Jack Butland.
Staying with outgoings and Everton want Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof at Goodison Park.
New boss Marco Silva has drawn up a short-list of transfer targets with new director of football Marcel Brands – and Lindelof is on it.
The Mirror say he has earmarked the 23-year-old centre-back as a priority ÂŁ35million signing – if United will consider offloading the Swedish international.
Silva knows him well from his knowledge of Portuguese football, where Lindelof was highly regarded at Benfica.
A Manchester United old boy is set to get a top job at Sunderland.
The Black Cats are set to unveil former keeper Tony Coton as their new head of recruitment.
A former Manchester United coach, Coton is set to be tasked with helping them escape from League One under new owner Stewart Donald following last season’s relegation.
A far cry from Old Trafford…
