Kanye West has previewed new music, rapping about âwhite dominanceâ in a video and teasing a new song called âLift Yourselfâ.
The rapper sparked controversy recently due to tweets declaring that he âlovesâ Donald Trump and hitting out at Barack Obama, as well as sharing photos of himself wearing a Make America Great Again hat.
According to TMZ, West invited the gossip siteâs boss Harvey Levin to his offices to share new music heâd been working on with him. As well as previewing bits from the albums he has produced for Nas, Pusha T, and Teyana Taylor, the star also âfreestyledâ on video.
âHopped off the Amistad and made âIâm A Godâ/Itâs always a lituation when Iâm involved,â he rapped, while wearing a Make America Great Again hat. âSee, I say what they say when the mic is off/Parents are the strippers/Strip kids of their confidence/Teach white dominance/Question your common sense.â Watch footage of the moment above.
Kanye has also teased a new song called âLift Yourselfâ, which he says will have âbarsâ and âa verse that will bring Ebro the closure heâs been seekingâ. Westâs tweet referred to Ebro Darden, radio host and recent critic of Kanye.
Heâs now shared the track and you can listen to it on his website.
West has been roundly criticised by the music world for his recent comments online. Macy Gray shared a photo of herself wearing a red hat emblazoned with the words Make Kanye Great Again, while Moby asked the rapper not to âdebaseâ himself âby being a Trump supporterâ.
The star has found some support from Chance The Rapper, however, who spoke out in a series of tweets. âHeâs in a great space and not affected by folk tryna question his mental or physical health,â he wrote. âSame Ye from the Vmas, same Ye from the telethon.â
âBlack people donât have to be democrats,â Chance added. âNext President gon be independent.â
Westâs new album is expected in June and will be the follow-up to 2016âs âThe Life Of Pabloâ. Hereâs everything we know about the release so far.
