This leading summer event in Paris for the last 30 years is coming back to Toronto.

Known for its elegance — and secrecy — Le Diner en Blanc is an epic culinary affair where patrons are requested to dress in their finest whites and be prepared for a sensational summer meal – the key being no one knows where dinner is taking place until a few hours before the event.

What we do know is it’s taking place Aug. 16 at a secret location, regardless of weather conditions, and wearing white is mandatory (not ivory, not beige — white.)

Guests are asked to bring everything they need for an elegant soiree, including folding table and chairs, gourmet picnic food, fine china, silverware, and tablecloth. There will be live music, dancing, and a chance to express your unique fashion and design style.

“We couldn’t be happier to host Le Diner en Blanc in Toronto for another year,” says co-host and founder, Jessica Tan.

“The event gets bigger and better every single year with more partners and exciting activations.”

Participation is in three stages: phase one is for members who attended the previous year; phase two is for new members who are referred by phase one attendees. Finally, there’s phase three is for people who signed up on the waiting list.

Wine and champagne cannot be brought in, but purchased through the online e-store. Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted per provincial laws. Registration is a must — check out the website for additional details including price ($43-$52, pending on transportation — walking vs. chartered bus.)

DINER EN BLANC TORONTO, Aug. 16 starting at 5 p.m. Venue to be announced day of event. Check out for more details and to register.
