MIAMI â Popular wisdom holds that itâs better to give than to receive, but music producer DJ Khaled doesnât hold to that philosophyâat least, not in the bedroom.
Khaled, who is married to and has a son with Nicole Tuck, declared in an interview with the radio show âThe Breakfast Clubâ that he does not perform oral sexâever.
âThere are certain things I just donât do,â the Miami-based producer stated flatly. âI believe the woman should praise the man, the king.â
Khaled granted that âthe queenâ deserved her praise as well, but proposed a different method.
âMy way of praising is, âHow was dinner? You like the house you living in? You like all those clothes you getting?ââ Khaled explained.
A female interviewerâapparently unable to believe her ears, despite Khaledâs directnessâpressed for clarification:
âSo you saying you donât go down?â
âNah, never,â the producer replied without hesitation. âNo. I canât do that. I donât do that.â
âNot even for her birthday,â a male interviewer chimed in, âor Christmas?â
A disgusted Khaled, clearly not amused with the direction of the interview, simply shook his head in response. Still his tormentors pressed on, asking him how he would feel about his wife making a similar refusal toward him.
âNo, thatâs not okay, because you have to understand I am the don, I am the king,â Khaled declared. âI am the king of the house.â
Khaledâs comments have been met variously with everything from amusement to revulsion from the public. Another South Florida mainstayâfilm and wrestling star Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnsonâresponded via Twitter:
âAhem.. *clears throatâ as a man, I take great pride in mastering ALL performances.â
The superstar went on to acknowledge that his wry remark might be âa little TMI.â
Khaled has been unapologetic, and perhaps sums up his feelings best in another statement from his radio interview:
âItâs different rules for men,â he said. âWe the king. Thereâs some things that yâall donât want to do but got to get done. I just canât do what you want me to do. I just canât.â
Apparently, Khaled is equally incapable of the application of simple common sense and steering clear of unnecessary controversy.
