A new report claims amid Angelina Jolie and Brad Pittâs custody battle the actress doesnât want her estranged husband in their six childrenâs lives âat all,â but itâs false. Gossip Cop is told by a Jolie insider that itâs ânot true,â and that she wants Pitt to have a âreunificationâ with the kids. Whatever the issues they still have, and there are a bunch, Jolie ultimately wants whatâs best for their children, which is a relationship with Pitt.
The new allegation that Jolie wishes Pitt âdidnât have to be a part of their lives at all,â comes courtesy of HollywoodLife, a site so well known for fabricating stories that itâs nicknamed HollywoodLies. According to the blogâs supposed âsource,â Jolie âwants nothing to do with Brad anymore, and therefore she doesnât want the children to have anything to do with him either.â Curiously, the often discredited site maintains, âThis isnât a sudden development,â but rather how Jolie has felt âever since they split.â
In case you donât recall, the same outlet previously asserted, Jolie wanted to get back together with Pitt. Itâs also the same outlet that falsely claimed Jolie would drop her divorce from Pitt and âwelcome Brad back with open armsâ because she âdefinitely has regrets about splittingâ from him. Clearly, its sources arenât that reliable or consistent.
Still, the blog quotes its tipster now as saying, âAngelina and Brad used to clash over parenting when they were together,â and it has gotten worse now that theyâre âno longer in a relationship [because] she has no control over what he does with the children when they are with him.â The so-called âsourceâ adds that Jolie has âmore anger towards him now than she had when they first split up.â Naturally, HollywoodLies doesnât explain why the Oscar-winnerâs âangerâ has supposedly increased exponentially, other than its âsourceâ asserting, âAngelina is used to getting her own way, and she canât stand being told what to do with her children,â especially by a âthorn in her sideâ like Pitt.
Of course, Pitt and Jolie were together for more than a decade and co-parented for a good part of that time. In fact, even after she filed for divorce, during an interview in which she promoted First They Killed My Family, Jolie told âGMAâ that Pitt is a good dad. She even reiterated during that segment, âWe will always be a family.â Itâs true their custody battle has been very tough, but Jolie has repeatedly acknowledged Pitt is a âwonderful father.â
Since we fact-check every story, Gossip Cop spoke with a Jolie source, who was not authorized to comment on the record but assured us that despite the difficult terrain that comes with a divorce and working out custody, Pittâs âreunification with the kidsâ remains part of Jolieâs âgoalâ as well. Our impeccable insider flat-out called HollywoodLiesâ latest article ânot true.â
It appears the blog spun the story out of a report on Saturday that contended Jolieâs divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, wanted to quit representing the actress because she had become âunreasonableâ and âfueled with anger.â But Jolieâs rep denied the split with her lawyer, noting Wasser was ânot quitting now or in the future.â Additionally, a source also confirmed to People that Jolie was working to âbridge the gap between the kids and their dad.â
